It is pretty much guaranteed that my children will have bad teeth, bad eyes, and GREAT taste palates!!!

Cincinnati, Ohio!
And this is why my kids get sick runny noses everytime we travel! Someday she'll listen to me when I tell her not to put her mouth on things!
I took the kids home to Cincinnati 
for 2 1/2 weeks... it was so fun and relaxing and COLD! Who knew we wouldn't use any of the shorts or swimsuits we packed?! Well we survived, and the kids got to play in the rain gutters with their boots on... they loved that. They also spent everyday on the trampoline, giving my mom more gray hairs and heart attacks because they wouldn't "stay in the middle". I kept saying all she had to do it let them fall off once and then they'd learn, but she wouldn't concede! I'm sure they'll thank her later for not letting them have their first trip to the ER.We hit alot of events while we were home: Sierra & Haley had their High School Choir Concert, in which I accompanied them singing a duet. And 10 years later, I can now say I've performed in my first high school concert! Haley also graduated from High School (she'll go to BYU in the Fall) which had my mom throwing a huge graduation party. We had a great turn out and we were blessed with great weather. The food was O-So-Yummy and we had oodles and oodles of noodles left over.
Projects, Projects!
Jon has been a busy little bee! He's been getting his hands dirty every spare minute that he has at home.
He finished our back patio with pavers and edging around the grass. This entailed Chelsea (and a few others) having to move 10 tons of dirt from the front to the back to build up half the patio so that it would all be level. It also meant Jon and I had to move 5 pallets of brick pavers from our driveway where they were delivered, and walk them around the house to the back. That was not my favorite thing to do. But it's so beautiful now and we have more room to eat out yummy dinners at sunset! I also recovered our table chair cushions with a sun-proof fabric so they won't 
deteriorate as fast this time!

Can I tell you how excited I was to come home and find it nearly finished? It looks so perfect and is more than what was expected! He even built the cabinet doors to match the style that's already in our kitchen. Jon, wow! I love it, I love it! You are amazing! Thank you for doing all of my projects =)

Just the other day
Abby came into the kitchen with a tiny bug she found in the bathroom. She carefully set it on the counter above the silverware drawer, pulled out a butter knife, cut the bug in half and then proceeded to put the knife back in the drawer. "Look Mommy!" She was so proud of herself =)
Are you seriously going to ask me if I took the knife out and washed it? I'm not answering that.
Later that evening we had dinner at In 'n Out. When we were finished, Jon got up to use the restroom. When he was about 5 booths away, Abby stood up and yelled, "Daddy. Make sure you use the boys one." We got a lot of stare and giggles from that!

Slip 'n Slide
We pulled out the slip 'n slide a few weeks ago as we became envious of everyone with pools... I think this will be my last house in Arizona without a pool (Hint to Jon: pool or we're OUT!).
So apparently Abby is great at the Sliding and Parker is great at the Slipping... just watch...

Time Out
So we've been pretty good about giving Parker time-outs when he needs it. It was pretty cute for the first couple of times because he thought it was a game and loved the corner... now he cries every time :) O, and he went through a "hugging the wall" phase where when we told him to go stand in the corner he'd run to the wall and hug it with all his might. We couldn't help but laugh every time. I love this little guy!
Hot Air Balloons!
I love the new area that we are in-- it's so pretty up here and it doesn't feel like a big crazy city. It feels like horse-country with long skinny road where the speed limit is 50mph. One morning at 7am we woke up to find several hot air balloons taking off from the mountains behind our house. So Abby and Parker sat on my nightstand and watched for a while. This is not uncommon where we live. Our neighborhood is right on the Desert Foothills Scenic Drive... thus we get TONS of bikers, hot air balloons, joggers, etc.
Butterfly Garden
Abby has LOVED preschool for the past 8 months. I'm going to have to get very creative during the summer break!
They spent a few classes learning about caterpillars and butterfly's and then took a field trip to the Butterfly Garden... Parker was a nightmare and I almost sold him, but other than that we had fun!
Abby insisted on wearing her butterfly wings and got many comments from all the other visitors there! I think she likes the attention :)
Hello again, hello!
I realize it's been a while since I've posted anything. No reason really. Don't worry, we weren't robbed again and our computer still works, it's just me. I will be more diligent.
April was very fun with lots of visitors at our home. First we had Aunt Chelsea, then Grampa Jack & Gramma Suz, and then Uncle Jordan & the future Aunt April. The kids go crazy every time we have anyone come to the house-- it's great entertainment for them and it gives me a good break. It also wears them out enough that they sleep SO well!
I realized just yesterday that I'm not so good at remembering to take pictures when we have people come. I think we're just so busy enjoying the time together that i don't think about pictures... so i will do better from now on. And the kids love to sit at the computer in front of a slide show and tell me about the pictures, so it would be best to have those of family members!
Chelsea was a superstar during her visit. Not one complaint after hours and hours of greuling manual labor... thanks to Jon finding some free dirt (ok 10 tons!) to build up the side of our patio in the backyard, we spent 5 hours one saturday sifting thourgh rocks and filling wheelbarrel after wheelbarrel. We literally would not have gotten it done without her. Thanks Chels... what a sport. See you in 10 years when you finally decide it's okay to visit again becuase we'll finally be done with our "projects"... Brook visits in July--ready Brook??? Don't say I didn't warn you!
Jack & Suz were great as always-- very low-maintenance guests. I love not feeling like I have to entertain them every second. They are content to play with the kids and sit on the back patio talking until the wee hours of the night (with ice cream of course). Diesel was a great sport in coming to story time at the library with us. It did take some coercing to actually get him inside the room with all the moms and toddlers running around... but I just wanted to give him a healthy dose of our life! He'll thank me later when he can hear again.
Jordan and April were very cute although she whipped me in tennis. In my defense I haven't played since we lived in Provo... but that didn't stop her from drilling them into me :) I demand a rematch!
